G I N G K O Deafening silence. Nothing remained. And suddenly a patch of luscious green flashed. Two, joined greenish hearts could be seen. It's a ginkgo tree reemerging among the ruins. In the suffocating fumes, from the scorched earth grows a plant that forgives everything. It grew back on the Chernobyl site and after the attack on Hiroshima - an indestructible, living fossil whose lineage goes back almost 200 million years. It has witnessed good and bad, and although the latter was much more - it persists, stubbornly grows and does not give up.
